The story of how I ended up in Ouray County is like most of the transplants who call this beautiful place home. My husband, Kevin, and I came to Colorado on vacation with our three children (Rebekah 17, Owen 9, and Eli 6) and at the time it all seemed pretty innocent. Pack up the Suburban, and escape the heat in Texas. Then we arrived in Ouray. Never before had someplace felt more like home to us. For the next couple of years we tried to figure out how to move to the area. We looked at businesses for sale, at the help wanted postings in the newspaper, any and every option to get to the area. Fortunately, the company that my husband worked for was purchased by Cisco Systems. That purchase allowed my husband to transfer to a job within Cisco that allowed him to work from home. Bingo! We sold our house in Austin, and moved to Ridgway. We rented a couple of places that first year, and realizing that Real Estate was a little out of our price range, we decided to buy a home in the North Fork Valley. We loved the local food, somewhat milder winters and sprawling farmland, but we missed the San Juan Mountains. After two years in Hotchkiss, we sold our home and moved back to Ouray County. We purchased a home between Ouray and Ridgway in our perfect spot. Sometimes the road where you want to go has a lot of curves; we have enjoyed the journey and are glad we are finally home.
I was born in Washington State, but grew-up in San Antonio, Texas. I have one brother and a wonderful extended family. I worked in the restaurant business for many years, eventually working my way up to managing a multi-million dollar BBQ restaurant. I loved the restaurant business. The intensity, diversity, and unexpected obstacles made everyday fun and challenging. Managing a group of dynamic individuals and working with so many different customers, helped me to hone in on my customer service skills. I pride myself in my ability to listen, and understand what others are saying. After staying at home with my children for 6 years, I decided to become a Realtor. I received my license in 2006 and have been going strong since the beginning. I believe my skills in customer service have been what set me apart from others. I really listen to what my clients want, and need. I believe that real estate is about my clients, not about me. I am fortunate enough to live, work, and own a home in this beautiful area and I work hard to help my clients do the same. I work hard for my family and yours, no matter how curvy and difficult the road is to get you where you want to be.
I look forward to your business.
Sincerely,
Angela Timm
