Three Homeowner Tips for Summer
Tuesday, May 24th, 2011After quite a bit of waiting on everyone’s part across the country, summer is finally here. That means more time outside, less inside, and the perfect time to take advantage of early morning light and cool evenings to get projects done. This week, we have some prime ideas for six summertime projects to keep you busy around the house.
Have your cooling system checked. For a few dollars, a local HVAC provider will come out and check the airflow from vents around your home. If they find below average airflow, you could have been stuck with running your cooling system all summer and spending a boatload more on your electric bill than necessary.
Have your sprinkler system checked. Leaks in your sprinkler system can be costly on your water bill. Hire a professional to come in and perform a system check to ensure that your water bill stays under control and your lawn is getting the best of what your faucet has to offer.
Fix that driveway or patio. They’re great places for kids to play and family barbecues. Why not spend one simple day getting the concrete patched up and ready for entertaining and summertime fun? You can do it yourself with a trip to the home improvement store or have a local handyman or contractor do the dirty work work you.
As always, we look forward to seeing you out and about town (or maybe in your driveway patching some concrete). Stop by our local events calendar to see what’s going on in our neck of the woods. Enjoy the summer and stay cool!
