Your Home Improvement Guide
Friday, March 25th, 2011The internet is a big place, and much bigger than your local home improvement store. Even bigger than your local library or bookstore. So, where do you go for advice when it comes to home improvement projects?
Since most homes have computers (and you probably wouldn’t be reading this post if you didn’t), we’ve put together a list of resources to help you navigate the web with ease when it comes to your home improvement needs. Never fear, solid advice is a click or two away.
We selected these sites because of the diversity of information they offer and how easy they are to navigate. We hope you enjoy – and happy clicking!
HomeTips.com: No points for design or style, but it’s one of the most comprehensive DIY and educational resources on the web for home improvement projects.
Better Homes and Gardens: We love this popular magazine’s site especially for the outdoor and gardening information.
This Old House: Perhaps you’ve seen the popular TV show. This is where it all lives online. A clean layout make navigation a breeze and the how-to’s are always top notch.
DIY Network: One of the largest online databases for the do–it-yourselfer. People can upload recent projects and you can actually see how someone just like you got a project done.
@Home: If you have a historic home, don’t miss this site. See renovations, historical remodels and connect with a community of homeowners just like you.
The weather is clearing and we hope to see you out and about. As always, our local events calendar is up to date with everything happening in the San Juans. We look forward to meeting you – and we’ll see you next week!
