First-Time Homebuyer Tax Credit Alert for Coloradans!
Thursday, March 26th, 2009In February, the Colorado State Legislature passed into law the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Times are tough and there’s a long road to recovery ahead, but we thought we’d do our part to make sure anyone reading our blog knows about the First Time Homebuyer Credit that’s a part of this legislation.
Whether or not you’ve already filed your tax return for the year, there are several ways you can take advantage of this credit if:
- You’ve bought a home in the past year, or
- Plan to purchase one in the next few months even!
Want to find out if you qualify for up to $8000 in tax credits on this year’s return? Read the Alert issued by State Senator Michael F. Bennet’s office. The alert contains valuable information on qualifications and steps you can take to claim your credit, even if you’ve already filed your return for the year.
While blogging about taxes isn’t necessarily the norm for us here at San Juan Realty, Inc., we feel it’s imperative in these challenging economic times to let everyone know there’s a sunny side to the street! Hopefully, it’s the street you live on. As always, never hesitate to let us know how we can help you get to know our beautiful community.
