Holiday Fun in the San Juans

Between getting all of your shopping done and prepping for travel and guests, we wanted to let you know about some cool events coming up here is our own backyard! When you’re ready to take a load off and take some time for you and your family, you might want to check these things out:
The Ouray Ice Park is Open! The annual Ouray Ice Festival is coming up on January 7-10, 2010 and if you’ve ever want to try your hand at “kicking it and sticking it,” there are plenty of opportunities. You can take clinics for only $40 at the ice festival and demo any gear that you might need from the vendors. The Ice Park is open now and you can even contact San Juan Mountain Guides for private and group ice climbing instruction prior to and after the festival. Memberships are only $40 for the year and you can buy one online to support this great local attraction and resource that draws athletes and enthusiasts from all over the world to the San Juans.
Cirque Le Masque “Carnivale” – Telluride (December 26-27) Head up to Telluride to take in Cirque Le Masque: Carnivale. A show filled with energy, color and an original story line, it’s the ultimate theatrical experience perfect for audiences of all ages. Palm Theater, 7 p.m. showtime both nights.
